It’s finally that time of year… beach weather! Unsurprisingly for someone who lives in LA, one of my favorite weekend activities is to grab a group of friends and a bag of snacks and head to the beach. Growing up in Suburban Michigan, I never really had the opportunity to spend much time by the ocean. Now I can’t imagine life without being near it. It’s such a spirit lifter and never fails to be my number one choice when someone asks “What should we do?”
In California, you can go to the beach any time of year. There have been countless times that my husband and I have taken an impromptu trip, fully clothed, just to sit and enjoy the view of the waves. But, when swimsuit season hits, there are several things I NEED to have in my beach bag.
Since the next few months will be full of beach trips, I thought I would take a moment to share my must-have products for a summer beach outing. Check them out below!
1) Sunscreen
I know what you’re thinking… duh! But I truly can’t say it enough. The best thing you could EVER do for your skin is SPF SPF SPF! This should actually be an every day piece of advice, but especially when you’re partaking in an activity where the main point is to literally soak up the sun’s rays – don’t forget this vital step! I would recommend an SPF of at least 30. I go back and forth between sprays and lotions. Sprays are easier in my opinion (can’t go wrong with a classic Banana Boat option) but lately I have been into this Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Water Resistant Sunscreen lotion.
2) Trader Joe’s Rose Spray Toner
A $4 toner that smells like roses? When I first saw this I didn’t even hesitate. For the price, what do you honestly have to lose? I love to spray this on my face while I’m lounging in the sun, it’s the perfect little refresh for a hot day. Available in-store at Trader Joe’s or shop here on Amazon for a few bucks more.
3) Dove Deodorant Wipes
These little babies are a god-send after a day of being drenched in sunscreen and sweat. And I love the refreshing cucumber and green tea scent. From my experience, they’re almost better than actual deodorant (gasp) but up to you if you want to bring a stick along just in case! Dove Cool Essentials Deodorant Wipes
4) Seafolly Beach Pillow

5) Portable Charger
Don’t get stuck on the beach with a dead phone. This portable charger is perfect for any outing, it fits right in your beach bag or purse. Get it from Amazon.
