Over the summer (in August, to be specific), my hubby and I took a much needed trip across the pond. If I haven’t already shared this, my husband is British. Yep, with the accent and everything (I get this question a lot, like of course he has an accent!). Since all of his family still live in the UK in a town about an hour South of London, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to mix vacation with quality family and friends time.
So we booked a hotel for a couple nights in London and then spent the rest of our two week vacay in Portsmouth with the fam. I can’t believe it’s been two years since the last time we were in the UK. I never want to go that long without visiting ever again!
There’s something so special to me about London in the summer. To rewind a bit: I studied abroad and did a fashion PR internship in beautiful London when I was in college (like 5 years ago?). Those three months were really the time that solidified London as my favorite city in the world. The UK is known for being gloomy and rainy most of the year, but I’m telling you, in the summertime, the sun likes to come out more often than not. I’m not entirely sure why my fascination with London grew so strong after a few short months of living there, I just know that around every corner there’s something magical and historic to see, even after all of these years. I would move there permanently if my husband wanted to move back. Too bad he’s obsessed with America, and I’m the one obsessed with England.
Have you ever visited the UK? Are you obsessed with London like I am? I would love to hear your experience!
